Although August might seem to be a long, hot month of never-ending Summer, it’s really the official start of Fall for many of us. In just a few weeks, we will be sending our young ones off to preschool, elementary school, high school, and even (gulp!) college. Even if your days of formal education are in the rearview mirror, think back to what an exciting time it was. On most college campuses, Greek recruitment occurs in August, and DG’s collegiate chapters rely on individual members to provide sponsorship forms for every young woman who walks through their doors. If you know someone who is going through recruitment, won’t you please take a few minutes to fill out a form on her behalf? Someone did it for you, and look how great things turned out!
Fall also brings a new and exciting year of events for our own alumnae chapter. The Programming Committee has had a great time putting together a fun, informative, activity-filled calendar for us. I always love the September kick-off, which is so well-attended. Everyone is happy to see each other after our Summer hiatus, and we gear up to Do Good throughout the rest of the year. Please reach out to those neighbors and co-workers who you learn are DGs and invite them along. If you think of a sister from your chapter or haven’t seen someone in awhile, make contact and see if they’ll come with you. This is how we strengthen our bonds of sisterhood and maintain such a strong local alumnae chapter.
I can’t wait to see you all SOON!
